A life lost far before his time.
A man well within his prime.
Rich was a colleague, friend, and mentor to me.
He helped me be all that I could be.
Always there to lend a hand to all.
No matter what, he always answered the call.
With Rich, we were blessed to have him around.
He always had words of wisdom abound.
He made us laugh, cry, and think as well.
A prankster deep inside that no one could tell.
I will miss my dear friend as time goes by.
It is so tough to understand why, I cannot lie.
Rich made the most of life's bet.
He was the most positive person I ever met.
God bless you Rich and rest in peace.
Don & Christine

I am so sad to have lost such a brilliant, funny and positive colleague. Rich will be very missed and never forgotten. My love and condolences to you, Margaret and your children and family. I'm so sorry.
I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,
spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts
for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck
of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone."
Gone where?
Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast,
hull and spar as she was when she left my side.
And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me -- not in her.
And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone,"
there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices
ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!"

To Margaret, her children and the other members of the Aust family, I extend my heartfelt condolences and sympathies. I am so very sorry for your loss.
Rich was exceptionally clever, talented, a wealth of knowledge and a mentor to us all. I will never forget how he lit up whenever Margaret called the office or stopped by. I don't think I ever saw Rich in a bad mood in the time I knew him. Nothing seemed to bring him down.
His presence will be sorely missed by all.

Greetings Rich,
My heart truly breaks for you and your family. Your time was cut incredibly too soon, but your memory will forever admirably live on. You've impacted so many lives, and I would like to say thank you for how much you've impacted mine. Thank you for always starting my work day with a smile. Thank you for your optimism, encouragement, and wealth of knowledge. Thank you for your wonderful sense of humor. Thank you (and Margaret) for proving to me that true love does exist and last. Thank you for being my colleague, my role model, and most importantly, my friend.
With much appreciation and deepest sympathy,
Alyssa

Dear Margaret,
I wanted to send my deepest sympathies to you and Pam on behalf of my wife Susan and I. I am very sad about Dick's passing. I have very fond memories of the two of you and the Aust family from our tender years of friendship together. They will always be with me. If you feel like contacting me, I would be delighted to hear from you. Please extend my condolences to the rest of the Aust family.
I was lucky to hear the news via David Pastore, a classmate at the prep. David has been instrumental in the reunions of our class. I was able to attend one this past Nov.
Sorry I was not able to see Dick at that time.
Sincerely,
John Trzepacz

Dear Margaret, Randy, Maggie, and family.
I am sure you've been hearing it throughout this entire week, but I don't know what to say. I am extremely sorry for your loss. Words cannot begin to express my deepest sympathy. Rich was one of the most well rounded people I have ever met. He was brilliant, funny, witty, and most of all, kind. Whenever he spoke of Margret and the kids, his entire face lit up. He was truly in love with Margret and bursting with pride and joy of his kids.
My heart goes out to you all. Please let me know if there is anything I can do.
