Frank A. Fiorito, 85, of Maplewood, N.J., died on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Inglemoor Nursing Home, Livingston, N.J. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange, N.J., on Friday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m. Interment is in Fairmount Cemetery, Newark, N.J. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. For more information or to send condolences, please visit jacobhollefuneralhome.com. Frank was born in Newark and lived in Maplewood for 48 years. He received his bachelor's degree and a master's degree in English from Columbia University. He was a corporal in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War. Frank was employed by the Newark Board of Education, teaching English at West Side High School, Barringer High School, East Side High School and Weequahic High School. Frank was a past vice president of the Newark Teachers Union; a past executive officer of AFT-AFL-CIO (American Federation of Teachers Local No. 481); a delegate for the Democratic National Committee 1976; a past president of Maplewood UNICO, and a past president of the State Federation of Teachers. Frank was the beloved husband of the late Mary Agliozzo Fiorito; devoted father of Frank A. Fiorito Jr. and his wife, Bambi; loving grandfather of Frank A. Fiorito III, Saige and Jaida Marchigano, and dear brother of John, Donald and the late Maryann.
