Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Froustet

Miss Mary Elizabeth Louisa Froustet, known to family and intimate
friends as "Betty Lou" died on July 28, 2020 at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains. Relatives and friends are invited to The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home 2122 Millburn Ave, Maplewood on Friday, July 31st at 9:00 AM thence to St. Michael’s Church, 1212 Kelly Street, Union were a Funeral Mass will be held at 10:15 AM. Interment will be in the family plot at the Holy Cross Cemetery, N. Arlington.

The only child of Bessie Murray and Adrian J. Froustet, Jr., Miss Froustet was born in Bayonne, NJ and graduated with degrees from Chestnut Hill, (PA) College, Fordham University, and Seton Hall University.  She also held certificates from Drew University, Rutgers University, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

A mathematics educator for 60 years Miss Froustet served on the
faculties of Bayonne Public Schools, Union Township High School,
Caldwell College, Rutgers University and Kean University of New
Jersey.  An active member of the National Council of Teachers of
Mathematics and the Association of Mathematics Teachers of NJ.  She
held office in each of these organizations.  She was a life member of
NEA, NJEA, NJREA, and Union County Retired Educators Association.

Since moving to Union in 1957, she was a communicant of St. Michael's
Church, Union and has served as lector and trustee.

Miss Froustet is survived by cousins who live out of state and many
