Robert W. Smith “Bigg Redd or Smitty”, passed peacefully on July 7th, 2020 at the age of 57 after a hard fought 15-year battle with Congestive Heart Failure.

He was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. He lived in & loved Tracey Towers. He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1982.

Robert worked as a Security Supervisor for Beth Israel Hospital in NYC and a Captain at CCA in Elizabeth, NJ.

He is survived by his children Courtney Smith, Kianna Smith and Nicholas Smith, his loving wife of 28 years Audrey Smith, his siblings Pearl Jamison-Andley, Jeanette May, Frances Haughton, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother & sister in-laws and countless nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Preceded by his parents, Marjorie Smith and Dudley Smith, and big brother Edmund Black.

Robert was of Jamaican descent. He loved “bun & cheese” from the bakery on 225th street and White Plains Road (NYC). As an avid fisherman, he was most at peace on the ocean. Music and comic books were a close second.

Robert was a caring soul and had a youthful spirit thus helped initiate a non-for-profit agency aimed at helping children named XDRILLZ.

“Bigg Redd” had a large personality and was loved by many. Everywhere he went, he ran into someone he knew. He always met them with a big smile and laugh. At 6’5 with red hair and freckles, you couldn’t miss him! Dad was a true gentle giant.

He fought valiantly to stay with us but God granted him rest.

Robert was loved deeply, will be missed dearly and has a place in our hearts forever.
