He took flight and landed at JFK airport in New York, New York on April 15, 2015, where he joined his Nigerian classmate, his friend and his brother Casmir Ikechukwu Ochiaka in Short Hills, New Jersey.   The two would find themselves residing in Short Hills, New Jersey with Virginia Roriston and her four children.

Calistus completed his four years of high school education at St. Mary of the Assumption High in Elizabeth, New Jersey.  At St. Mary of the Assumption, Calistus found himself among family with The Hilltoppers; there he made a lasting impression on all those with whom he came in contact.  Calistus was team captain and team ambassador for St. Mary of the Assumption High School.  Calistus was recognized by NJSIAA as a "scholar athlete" and received many well-deserved college scholarships.

As a diligent and conscientious scholar, he took education very serious and graduated with a 4.1 GPA. His hard work and dedication in the classroom and on and off the basketball court him in a position to receive numerous Division I scholarships offers.  He ultimately chose to attend Binghamton University where “found his new home.”   Calistus successfully completed his freshman year and was spending the summer at Binghamton working out and taking summer classes when he passed away this past Sunday.

He is survived by his parents Gerald and Regina (Chinwa) Anyichie of Nigeria and his siblings Jane, Charles and Christopher Anyichie.

He is also survived by his American mother, Virginia Roriston and siblings Robert Stephen, Charles and Mary Rorisron, Roriston, Casmir Ochiaka, and Abdoul Mounir Mohamadou Hima.
