Marie Walsh Froelich, 90, of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Spring Lake, NJ, after a rich, full life passed away peacefully on June 7, 2011, surrounded by family members at her home in Fort Lauderdale. Visitation will be held at the Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave, South Orange, NJ, on Friday, June 10th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St Joseph's Church at 767 Prospect St., Maplewood NJ, at 10:00am on Saturday, June 11th. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ. Marie was born and lived in Newark, N.J., before moving to Maplewood in 1964, and then to Fort Lauderdale in 1971. She graduated from St. Vincent's Academy in Newark. Marie was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Jerome J. Froelich. She was the devoted mother of Jerome Jr. of Atlanta; Brian Froelich and his wife Jeanne of Spring Lake; Larry Froelich and his late wife Kyle Brennan of Clark, NJ; Maryellen Matthews and her husband Brian of Maplewood, Christopher Froelich and his former wife Patricia Brown of Maplewood; Joseph Froelich and his wife Janet of Maplewood; Dr. Catherine Froelich and her husband Dr. Robert Kirsner of Miami; and the late Gregory Froelich. Marie is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces. In lieu of flowers, donations to St Vincent's Academy, 228 West Market St., Newark, NJ 07103 or St. Benedict's Prep, 520 Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd., Newark, NJ 07102 would be appreciated.
