Obituary of Michael Tirone

Michael Tirone, 48, of Union, formerly of South Orange, died on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, in Overlook Hospital, Summit. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange, on Monday, Sept. 28, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation will be held at the Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange, on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. only. He was a labor worker with the South Orange Department of Public Works from 1990 to 2008. He was a graduate of Kean University and a member of the Savoia Club in South Orange. He was the beloved son of the late Patrick A. and Beatrice O'Neil Tirone; devoted brother of Mary F. Rihm, Cynthia Lopreiato, Anthony Tirone and the late Patrick A. Tirone Jr.; loving uncle of Joseph, Nicholas, Emily, Eric, Tara and Alicia and dear longtime companion of Patricia Karcher and her daughter, Dana.
