Obituary of George W. Martel

George Martel, 61, of Cedar Grove died on Monday, April 14, 2008, in the Veterans Affairs Health Care Center at East Orange. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, on Friday at 5 p.m. Interment is private. Born in Woburn, Mass., Mr. Martel resided in Cedar Grove for 20 years. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1969 in Vietnam. Mr. Martel was the beloved husband of Regina Lynch Martel; devoted father of Nicole Martel Banas and her husband, Jeffrey; loving grandfather of Maya Jing and Finley Banas; he is also survived by six brothers and sisters.
