Obituary of Marianne A. Hernandez

Mariana Hernandez, 76, passed away on Oct. 30, 2016, at Morris View Health Care Center. Born in Brady, Texas, to Carolina and Jose Hernandez, she graduated from the University of Texas, Austin, and served in the Peace Corps in the Philippines. She taught at California State University, Los Angeles, and in New Jersey, where she lived for the past 38 years. She was a political activist and a leader in Alcoholics Anonymous on the local, state, and regional levels. She was predeceased by her brothers, Jose, Armando, and Paul. She leaves two loving brothers, Eduardo and Guillermo; her devoted companion, Chris Hildebrand; her Chihuahua, Paco, and scores of extended family and friends. The funeral will be private.
