Evelyn Zwigard Tully, 97, of Maplewood formerly of Short Hills died at home on Thursday, June 30, 2016. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave, Short Hills, on Tuesday, July 5th at 11:15 AM. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, E. Hanover. Arrangements by The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, Maplewood. Evelyn was a graduate of the College of St. Elizabeth, Convent Station Class of 1940. On Feb 1, 1941 , Evelyn married Paul her husband of 75 years. Evelyn was an active member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Short Hills. She was a member of the Ladies Auxilary at St. Rose of Lima Church, Twigs of Overlook Hospital, the mixed nuts bridge group and member of the Serra Club of the Oranges, a Catholic organization which fostered the education and encouragement of young men aspiring to enter the Priesthood. Evelyn and her late husband Paul were also inducted into the Knights of The Holy Sepulchre in 1965. Evelyn enjoyed living in Short Hills for 35 years and in the residential community of Winchester Gardens, Maplewood for the past 8 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul C. Tully. Devoted mother of Donald C. Tully, Thomas J. Tully and Diane J Tully Roger. Dear sister of the late Charles Zwigard. Also survived by ten grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
