Paul C. Tully of Maplewood, N.J., formerly of Short Hills, N.J., died on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave., Short Hills, on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at 10 a.m. Interment will be held at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J. Visitation will be held at the Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, from 4 to 8 p.m. For more information or to send condolences, please visit jacobhollefuneralhome.com. Paul was a World War II veteran, serving as a communication specialist in Europe for the United States Army. He was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, class of 1939. On Feb. 1, 1941, Paul married Evelyn Rose Zwigard, his wife of 75 years. Paul was an active member of St. Rose of Lima Church of Short Hills, N.J., as well as president of the Serra Club of the Oranges, a Catholic organization which fostered the education and encouragement of young men aspiring to enter the priesthood. Paul and his wife, Evelyn, were also inducted into the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre in 1965. He enjoyed living in Short Hills, N.J., for 35 years and in the residential community of Winchester Gardens, Maplewood, N.J., for the past eight years. Paul was the beloved husband of Evelyn Zwigard Tully; devoted father of Donald C. Tully, Thomas J. Tully and Diane J. Tully Roger, and dear brother of William Tully and the late Leo Tully and Marie Murray. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
