EDDIE D. ENGLAND POSTAL SERVICE RETIREE Eddie England, 62, of Maplewood, NJ. Died on Sept 27, 2011 at Overlook Hospital, Summit. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave, Maplewood on Sun, Oct 2nd 2-4 & 7-9 PM Mr. England was born in Lincoln, Arkansas and resided in Maplewood, NJ for 39 years.Served in the US Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He graduated from Kean College with a BA in 1980. He was a retired letter carrier from the United States Postal Service, Maplewood, where he also served as president of the National Association of Letter Carriers, Branch 3972 for over 20 years. Eddie was a member of the Maplewood Lions Club and served as their President in 1989. He was the District Governor of 16E for Lions International from 1992 to 1993 and continued to serve the Lions International as chair and member of various committees. Mr. England took his involvement in the Town of Maplewood very serious serving as member of the Maplewood Civic association, the Maplewood 4th of July committee and Maplewood Town Safety Committee. He also was a member of the Maplewood Citizens Budget Advisory Committee for 5 years and as their chairman in 1997. He was awarded the 1986 Man of the Year Maple Leaf Award. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jo-Ann M. England (nee Renna) and daughters London and Button. His sister Mary Lou Bobbitt of Mena, Arkansas, brothers J D England of Westville, Oklahoma and Gary Bailey of Arkansas. He was predeceased by his parents Ruth and Fred and brother George. In lieu of flowers donations are to be made to the Maplewood Lions Club, PO Box 1, Maplewood, NJ 07040 in Eddie England's name.
