Margaret Ambrose Uhlman, a longtime resident of Maplewood, N.J., passed away at the age of 54 on July 25, 2011.Meg fought a valiant battle against the cancer that took her life but never claimed her spirit. A celebration of Meg's life will take place at Morrow Memorial Methodist Church, 600 Ridgewood Road, Maplewood, on Saturday, Aug. 6, at 11 a.m. Arrangements are by The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, Maplewood. Meg was raised in Basking Ridge and graduated from Pine Manor Junior College; she also completed course work at the NY School of Interior Design. Meg was a devoted mother to her son, Robert, and two daughters, Olivia and Julia, and was a loving wife to her husband, Kurt, all of whom she cherished deeply. She was a gourmet cook, an avid skier, and a proud member of the national Republican Party. Those who knew and loved Meg will forever recall her biting wit, engaging spirit, and infectious laughter. Meg was predeceased by her father, Robert B. Ambrose, M.D. In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by her mother, Natalie Ambrose of Hilton Head, S.C.; three sisters and their spouses, Judith and Duncan Ewald of South Orange, N.J.; Janet and Jeff Hamm of Roswell, Ga., and Nancy and Eric Wentz of Florham Park, N.J. Meg also leaves behind seven loving nieces and nephews and a countless number of close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Morrow Memorial Church or Stand Up To Cancer, (www.standup2cancer.org).
