Obituary of Arthur Sarno

Arthur Sarno, 92, of Maplewood died Friday, March 28, 2008, at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Good Shepherd Parish, 285 Nesbit Terrace, Irvington, on Tuesday, April 1, at 10 a.m. The entombment will be in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. The visitation will be held at the Jacob A. Born in Newark, Mr. Sarno resided in Maplewood for 30 years. He was a machinist at Hyatt Roller Bearing Co. (Division of G.M.) in Clark from 1945 until his retirement in 1983. Mr. Sarno was a member of the United Auto Workers Union. He was also a member of Good Shepherd Parish in Irvington and a longtime member of the Maplewood Community Pool. Mr. Sarno was the beloved husband of Genevieve (Jean) Horton Sarno; devoted father of Patricia Lampa and her husband, Glen, and Susan DiJulio and her late husband, Michael; loving grandfather of Jason, Kati, Nicole, Jennifer and Suzanne, and dear great-grandfather of JaLind. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations to FMBA Local 25, 105 Dunnell Rd., Maplewood, N.J. 07040, would be appreciated.
