Obituary of Charles Clay Jr.

Charles Clay Jr., 72, of East Orange died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at East Orange Veterans Hospital. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange, on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 8:30 p.m. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Relatives and friends wishing to attend the interment in Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, are requested to meet at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Preston Funeral Home. For more information, visit prestonfuneralhome.net. Born in South Boston, Va., Mr. Clay lived in East Orange for 30 years. He was a supervisor for S.B. Penick and Co., Newark, where he worked from 1964 to 1999 before retiring. He served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959. He was the beloved husband of Vivian Harrison Clay and dear brother of Zenobia William and Herbert Clay. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
