Elsie Stadler Delano, 97, passed away peacefully on Dec 29, 2017 at her daughter’s residence in Newtown, PA. She was surrounded by her family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave, Short Hills, on Mon, Jan 8th at 11:15 AM. Interment St. Teresa's Cemetery, Summit. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home 2122 Millburn Ave, Maplewood on Sunday, 2-6 PM. Born in Ziegelhausen, Germany, Elsie lived in Millburn, NJ for 65 years before moving to her daughter’s home three years ago. Before marriage, she was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone and later a receptionist at Millburn Board of Education. She was a fiercely devoted mother and grandmother. Together with her husband, she was also an active parishioner of St. Rose, preparing for countless events and fundraisers. Elsie was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Joseph A. Delano and by their son, Michael. She is survived by her devoted children Ann Koloski and her husband Dan, Joe Delano Jr. and his wife Ellen, her loving grandchildren Joe Delano III, Jacob Delano and Elizabeth Koloski and her sister, Cornelia Geiger. In lieu of flowers, donations to VITAS Hospice 1787 Sentry Parkway West, Bldg 16, Suite 400, Blue Bell, PA 19422 would be appreciated.
