On Tuesday, Sept 23, 2014, at the Morristown Medical Center. Mark passed away peacefully and comfortably with his wife, children and other family members at his side. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange, N.J., on Sunday, Sept. 28, at 5 p.m. Interment is private. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 p.m. until time of service. Born in New York City, Mr. Steinbauer lived in Pompton Lakes before moving to Maplewood 27 years ago. He graduated from Rutgers University in Newark, N.J., with a B.S. in accounting and had been vice president for real estate at the Silverman Group, Short Hills, N.J., since 1992. A wonderful family man, he cherished his large extended family and loved cooking and hosting family gatherings. He was also devoted to his job and his work family. The beloved husband of 33 years to Carrie Fabrizio Steinbauer, he was the devoted father of Amy, Adam, and Aaron Steinbauer; loving son of the late Douglas and Susanne Speed Steinbauer; dear brother of Anne Newton-Harding and the late Reid Steinbauer, and step-son of Mary Steinbauer. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws as well as many close friends, colleagues and his work family.
