Obituary of George A Hochuli Jr.

Please share a memory of George to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
George Hochuli, beloved husband, son, brother, uncle and friend to many, passed away on Saturday, June 3, at the age of 64. A bit of a hell-raiser in his youth, he found sobriety 17 years ago and has lived his life since then in service to others, helping them find their way along the road to sober living. George was born in Newark, NJ on August 17, 1952 and spent his early years in Union. A carpenter by trade, he had a wanderlust and lived in many places, including Florida, Virginia, Aruba and St. Croix, where he met his wife, Rosanne, on the beach. They lived for a while in NYC before moving to Maplewood in 1992, where they still reside today. George was predeceased by his father, George Hochuli, Sr. and his dear brother-in-law Alan Lampert. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Rosanne, his mother Ann Hochuli, his sisters, Karen (Art) Packard, Deborah (Bob) Doty, Lois Lampert, his brother John (Linda) Hochuli, his nieces Lauren and Jenna Hochuli, and nephew, Matthew Lampert, as well as his extended AA Family. He is also survived by friends too numerous to mention. George's final message to all those he guided and counseled was "Carry the Message." Visiting hours will be held at The Jacob Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Avenue, Maplewood, on Tuesday, June 6th from 4 pm to 7pm, followed by a service from 7pm to 8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, 986 South Springfield Ave, Springfield, NJ 07081 or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
