Margaret D. Richards, a 33-year resident of South Orange, N.J., passed away at her home on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013. She was 86. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange, on Thursday, Sept. 5, at 10:30 a.m. Entombment is in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, N.J. Visitation will be held at Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. For more information or to send condolences, please visit prestonfuneralhome.com. Margaret was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. In the early 1970s, she and her husband founded Corsa Management, a residential apartment building real estate company, which she was active in running until the late 1980s. She also worked as a social worker for Train Now for Tomorrow in Baltimore, Md., in the 1960s, an organization that gave young African-Americans in the City of Baltimore a quality private education through scholarships and enriching cultural experiences. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in South Orange. Margaret was the beloved wife of Anthony Richards; devoted mother of Nancy D'Amico, Carol Richards, and the late James Richards; dear sister of Frank Dunnebacke; loving grandmother of Vincent Richards and Katherine Botsford; and great-grandmother of Langston, Truman, Christopher, Sawyer, and Miles. In lieu of flowers, donations to Our Lady of Sorrows Food Pantry, 217 Prospect St., South Orange, N.J. 07079 would be appreciated.
