Christopher John Maguire, 47, entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 25, 2013 Chris grew up in Short Hills, NJ. He graduated from Millburn High School in 1984 and received a B.A. from Colgate University in 1988. Chris worked in the music industry for the next 14 years. He was a Production Assistant for Electra Entertainment, a Production Coordinator for Verve Records and also a Director of Production Development for Milan Entertainment. After his work in the music industry, he joined Smith Barney and rose to Vice President, Investments. Chris worked at Smith Barney until a spinal injury forced his retirement. He was an Auxiliary Member of the Knights of Malta and made seven pilgrimages to Lourdes, France to assist the sick. Chris was also an active volunteer for The Bowery Mission in New York City. Chris is survived by his parents, James & Patricia Maguire; his sister, Melissa Sullivan and her husband, Bill; his brother James P. Maguire Jr. and his wife, Dorian; and five nieces & nephews—Shannon Sullivan, Jessica Sullivan, Patrick Maguire, Sean Maguire & James P. Maguire III. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave, Short Hills NJ on Friday, June 14th at 11:15 a.m. Burial will be at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery and a reception will follow at the Church in Ryan Hall. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Stillpoint House of Prayer, PO Box 619, Bradenton FL 34206. Stillpoint provides assistance to the neediest and is entirely staffed by volunteers.
