I was privileged to know Uncle John and Aunt Ginny. Our family would visit often in Tampa, and Uncle John always entertained the girls. He was light hearted, smiling, personable and a joy to be around. He will be missed.

My father, Sgt. Edward Sliva served with John in Company B, 738th Tank Battalion. With John's help, I was able discover my father's war history and he also supplied me with a huge amount of information regarding the CDL and a cherished photo of the 738th that John was so kind to offer. I will truly miss him.

Col Brier was my boss when he served as Chief-of-Staff, 2nd Armored Division 67-68. His impact on my life is profound. He instilled in me the importance of integrity, hard work, thoroughness and competence in the work place. The hardest working boss I ever had. Huge impact for good in my life. I thank him. Taught me how to be an officer.
