Celebrating the Life of Kenneth A. Brown Born: September 4, 1937 Died: December 27, 2013 Kenneth Albert Brown, educator, entrepreneur, 25-year resident of West Orange, NJ and 50-year summer resident of Martha's Vineyard, MA; devoted husband of Mildred Davis Brown, father of Denise Brown-Allen, Ed.D. and Leah Brown, J.D., grandfather of Daniel and Dorian Allen and Christopher and Clayton Sumrell, and brother of Bernard Brown, departed this earthly life on Friday, December 27, 2013. He was predeceased by his parents, Alan and Enid Brown of Jamaica, WI and Bronx, NY and brother, Allen C. Brown of New York City. He was adored by his brother-in-law, Nathaniel Davis, J.D and cousins, Millie Ormsby and John Hall, MD of Kingston, Jamaica, WI as well as a host of nephews and nieces. Raised in Harlem, NY, Ken was a retired Principal for the Newark Board of Education, and committed much of his life to mentoring students in sports and life skills. Visitation will be held at the Preston Funeral Home located at 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange, N.J., on Friday, Jan. 3, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are also invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Sorrows Church on Saturday, Jan. 4, at 10:30 a.m. located at 217 Prospect Street, South Orange, N.J. Interment will be held at the Crawford Family Cemetery in Boligee, Alabama. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
