Geraldine S. Phillip, 42, of Maplewood died on July 18, 2009, at Saint Barnabas Hospice at Beth Israel Hospital, Newark. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange, on Saturday, July 25, at 9:30 a.m. Interment is in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation will be held at Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange, on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. For more information or to send condolences please visit www.prestonfuneralhome.net. Born in Goodwill, Dominica, Mrs. Phillip lived in the Bronx, N.Y., before moving to Maplewood six years ago. She worked in Human Resources in the Statistical Surveys Department for the New York Life Insurance Co. in New York City from 1997 to 2005. She was a graduate of Convent High School in Dominica, class of 1984. She earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of West Indies (Cave Hill Campus) and an M.B.A. in Business Administration from Baruch College in New York City. She was the beloved wife of Francis Phillip; devoted mother of Keona and Nicole-Marie Phillip; loving stepmother of Indera and Odette Phillip; dear sister of Jennifer, Myrtle, Dorothy, Francis, Raphael, Leonard, Raymund, Donald, Denise and Gerard. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
