Eugene L. O'Neill, 72, of Maplewood, N.J., died on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at home surrounded by his loving family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church, 767 Prospect St., Maplewood, on Friday, April 24, at 10 a.m. Interment is in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. For more information or to send condolences please visit jacobhollefuneralhome.com Born in Sneem, County Kerry, Ireland, Mr. O'Neill came to the U.S. in 1961 and lived in Maplewood since 1967. A landscaper, he owned the E. & B. O'Neill Landscaping for 50 years before retiring. He enjoyed watching Irish football with his family and friends and spending time with his six grandchildren. He loved Irish music and shared his love for his Irish heritage with his family. He was the beloved husband of Mary Teresa Keane O'Neill; devoted father of Maria Gray and her husband, Scott, Brian O'Neill, Kathleen Small and her husband, William, and Eileen Wotanowski and her husband, Matt; loving grandfather of Allison and Connor Small, Niahl Wotanowski, Devon Gray, Liam and Eamon Wotanowski; dear brother of Jeramiah and John O'Neill, Mary Gernon, Nora and Gerald O'Neill, Sheila McGovern, Patrick O'Neill, and the late Eileen O'Neill. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105-1905 would be appreciated.
