America Cardoso Marno, 79, of Alexandria, Va., formerly of Elizabeth, died on Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, in Inova Alexandria Hospital, Alexandria, Va. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home, 2122 Millburn Ave., Maplewood, on Saturday, Dec. 27, at 9:30 a.m., thence to St. Joseph's Church, Maplewood, where a Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Interment is at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Born in Cuba, America was formerly of Elizabeth, moving to Alexandria, Va., three years ago. She was a homemaker. America was the beloved mother of Deborah Diak of Las Vegas, Nev., Joseph A. Marno and his wife, Jeanette, of Dumfries, Va., and Michael A. Marno of Alexandria, Va.; dear grandmother of Jessica Testa and her husband, Joshua, and Jazmine Marno.
