Obituary of Dorothy Lynch

Dorothy Scott Lynch of Palmetto Bay, Fla., formerly of South Orange, died on Sept. 17, 2008, at home in Palmetto Bay. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange, on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 9:30 a.m. Interment is in Hollywood Cemetery, Union. Visitation will be held at Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. For more information, please visit prestonfuneralhome.net. Born in South Orange, Mrs. Lynch was a resident there until 2006 when she relocated to Miami, Fla., to be closer to family there. She worked as an admitting clerk at the Hospital Center at Orange for 27 yeras, retiring in 1996. She was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, South Orange and a longtime member of the South Orange Women's Club. She was the beloved wife for 32 years to the late Cornelius F. Lynch, the devoted mother of Jeffrey Lynch and his wife, Cheryl, and Linde Jensen and her husband, J.J., the loving grandmother of Courtney A. and Neil R. Lynch, and the dear sister of Marion Ortman and Margaret Eisenman.
