Obituary of Sandra Calemine

Sandra Calemine, 75 passed away at home on November 12, 2024.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Church, 767 Prospect Street in Maplewood. Reception to follow at family residence.

Ms. Calemine was born in Brooklyn, NY, and lived there for many years before moving to Maplewood  NJ in 2022. For 25 years Sandra was the owner of Positively 4th street, a hair salon in Park Slope Brooklyn. Later on, she was a High School English teacher for the New York City Board of Education where she touched endless lives with her love of literature. 

She was a devoted mother to her daughter Lark Losardo, and a beloved mother in law to Michael Losardo. She cherished the role of grandmother to her much adored grandchildren ,Amanda Coletti (Jeff),  Ava Losardo and Percy Losardo who brought immeasurable joy to her life. She is also survived by her grand pup Chelsea, who spent hours and hours comforting her Nonna when she needed it most, at the expense of numerous treats. 

Sandra was known for her strength and wisdom and was always there for her loved ones.

She will be remembered for her passionate spirit  and her ability to bring warmth and comfort to those who knew her.

In addition to family, Sandra had many dear friends who will miss her deeply. 

Sandra was predeceased by her husband Wesley Dukes, and her parents Louis J . Calemine and Inez Calemine, and her grandson, Francis.
