Obituary of Joan E. Bork

Joan E. Bork Active in Maplewood First Aid and animal welfare programs, 65 Joan E. Bork, 65, of Whiting, N.J., formerly of Maplewood, N.J., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's Church, 767 Prospect St., Maplewood, on Wednesday, Nov. 22, at 10 a.m., followed by interment at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union, N.J. Visitation will be held at The Jacob A. Born in Newark, N.J, Ms. Bork lived in Whiting for the past year. Prior to retirement, she was employed as a bookkeeper for 10 years at Dimensional Dental Management in Avenel, N.J. Ms. Bork was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Maplewood and was an early member of the town's First Aid Squad. Additionally, she was very active in various animal protection organizations, including work with Dr. Stack of Valley Animal Hospital, also in Maplewood. Ms. Bork was the loving daughter of the late Agnes and Harold Bork, and dear sister of A. Georgette O'Cone and Harold C. Bork, and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. In lieu of flowers donations to Associated Humane Societies of New Jersey, 124 Evergreen Ave., Newark, N.J. 07114, would be appreciated.
