Cade Stockmeyer Beach, a longtime resident of Maplewood, NJ, passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 19th. A truly beautiful presence in this world left us way too soon.

Born on March 11, 1952, in New Orleans, LA, she was the daughter of Carl and Mary Cade Stockmeyer. She was the oldest of the 7 Stockmeyer children and very proud of her New Orleans roots. Cade loved her life. It was defined by her laughter, her faith, her books, her gardens, travel, sports, any good party and a deep love for family and friends. She was a past president of the Junior League of the Oranges and Short Hills and had a passion for voluntarism. Nothing made her happier than playing with her beautiful grandchildren, sitting on a beach on Nantucket and traveling the world with those she loved.

Cade met the love of her life, Rick Beach, at the University of Virginia, where they both graduated. They were married in 1973 and enjoyed 50 years together. She is survived by her husband, Rick, her mother, Mary, in New Orleans, her daughter, Brady (Tom) Dillon from Millington, NJ, her son Tom (Colleen) from Maplewood, NJ, her 7 grandchildren, Charlie, Brooks, Teddy, Bennett, Lucy, Sam, and Cece and her six siblings, Carl Stockmeyer Jr., Ann Roberts, Jane Lane, Tom Stockmeyer, John Stockmeyer, and Sally Banta.

The hardest goodbyes are the ones we don’t get to say. Cade was beautiful, both inside and out. She leaves us with joyous memories and will remain in our hearts forever.

A celebration of Cade’s life will be held at St Joseph’s Church, 767 Prospect St, Maplewood, NJ 07040 at 4pm on December 8th, 2023.
