Obituary of Sheila A. Keefe

Sheila was born in Schenectady, NY and was a lifelong resident of Short Hills. She attended St. Rose of Lima Grammar School, graduated high school from Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child in Summit, earned a B.S. degree from Rosemont College, PA and received a MS.Ed. from Seton Hall University. Sheila spent the majority of her career as a first grade teacher in Summit at the Lincoln School. For many years, she also taught Sunday school at St. Rose of Lima and was also a member of the School Board. After retirement, Sheila devoted herself to serving others through her charitable efforts. In addition to volunteering at a local soup kitchen, she was also the coordinator of the Meals-On-Wheels Food Program at the Millburn-Short Hills Red Cross for 20 years and did medical drives as well. Sheila is pre-deceased by her parents, Leo J. and Marion Keefe, two brothers, Leo Jr. and Rev. Thomas H. Keefe, MM. and one sister, Mary Saunders. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews who will miss her greatly and always remember her kindness, humor and generosity. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St Rose of Lima Church, 50 Short Hills Ave. Short Hills, NJ on Friday Oct 13th at 11:15 AM. Interment will follow at St. Rose Cemetery.
