I remember him always being a great guy I knew him since I was a kid when I worked at king's. Always working hard and loving the Yankees..use to hook up extra meat for the price of a pound when times were hard for me so I can eat..I'll miss seeing you around town and busting your chops. Kathryn and Elissa, I have known VJ ever since he was in high school and started putting weekend newspapers for me in Maplewood store. He always showed up early in the morning, never late and always with a smile on his face. That was in eighties until he moved on to what turned out to be a long career at Kings and I to Madison but there were few times I met up with him at South Orange store but never without that smile. He was just as happy as I was to see him and catch up. Me and my family in SO store are deeply saddened to hear about his untimely passing. Happy to have a chance to know him and will be dearly missed. May he rest in peace and may God give you and your family strength to deal with the loss of a good soul. Bert and Family.

'Kathryn and Elissa, we are so sorry to hear about VJ. When we think of VJ we think of his big bright smile and warm greeting. Emil recalls he would always ask about Pat when she wasn't with him in Kings. Emil loved talking to him about the Yankees! Carolyn made a point of always stopping by Kings to ask VJ about Elissa when she was home from Boston and he was always so good about giving her special messages from her longtime friend. VJ always was so proud of his sister and loved telling Carolyn about her achievements. We always heard about how wonderful he was to his mother. He was kind and caring just like his father. Carolyn's daughter Laura also cares a lot about the animals and Laura says we'll do some special acts of kindness for animals in need in memory of Vinny. Sending Love and Prayers! I know VJ knew how much he was loved. But I’m not sure he knew he was everyones favorite. Especially mine. I would whisper it to him in his ear every time I saw him from the time that we were little.He’d tilt his head, and give me that beautiful smile. I know if you knew him, you know that sweet smile I’m talking about. He was the most gentle, sweetest loving soul. He emitted nothing but love and never had a bad word to say about anyone. We are all so heartbroken. He will be missed more than he could possibly know. God Speed V - You are home with Dad and your Grandparents. Rest easy my beautiful cousin. Until we meet again xo…. I’ve added a picture of VJ with a light shining on only him.. showing exactly how big his heart was.

There are no words to describe how sorry I am to hear about the passing of VJ. He was the sweetest kindest lovable soul, an angel. I will always remember that beautiful little smile when he saw you and how he would giggle and say hi Aunt Diane. I loved him so much. My thoughts and prayers are with his mom sister and family.
