Ligia M. D'Alessandro, 76, passed away at Morristown Memorial Hospital on Monday, November 23, 2020.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady Of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect Street, South Orange, NJ, on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 10:30 a.m.  Visitation will be held at Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Avenue, South Orange, on Friday, Nov. 27th from 4 to 7 p.m. To conform to COVID 19 protocols, no more than 45 guests will be allowed in the funeral home at a time.

 

Ligia was born on July 23, 1944 in Quito Ecuador and lived in South Orange for many years until she moved to Dover 10 years ago. She worked at Chico’s in the Short Hills Mall as a retail salesperson for the past 13 years. Ligia was a dedicated mother first and foremost and especially loved her role as Nana. She treasured her family, friends and acquaintances.

 

Ligia is survived by her husband Arthur D’Alessandro Jr., her two children and their spouses, Rachael Cogott and her husband Christopher Cogott, Arthur D’Alessandro III and his wife Jennifer; 7 grandchildren Reinel, Christopher and wife Nicolle, Nicole, Nicholas, Adrianna, Sophia and Isabella. She is also survived by her siblings Blanca Fabiola, Luis Aurelio, Ines Germania and Maria Elena. Ligia is predeceased by her brother Carlos Veintimilla. She touched and loved deeply all who knew her. 

 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Saint Jude.
