Donald G. Wilms, 81, of South Orange, N.J., died at home on Friday, Feb. 7, 2014. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady Of Sorrows Church, 217 Prospect St., South Orange, on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 10:30 a.m. Interment is at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J. Visitation will be held at Preston Funeral Home, 153 South Orange Ave., South Orange, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. For more information, or to send condolences, please visit prestonfuneralhome.net. Born in Montclair, N.J., Donald lived in South Orange for 52 years. He served in the Air Force from 1952 to 1956, during the Korean War. He was employed as a repair technician with Amano Time Inc., Roseland, N.J., for 15 years before retiring. Prior to that, he worked for Remington Rand, Newark, N.J., for 18 years. Donald was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in South Orange. He was the beloved husband of 44 years to Maria Dubis Wilms and the late Rita Giblin Wilms; devoted father of Donald W. Wilms and his wife, Pamela; Deborah Ann O'Connor and her husband, the late Patrick; William R. Wilms and his wife, Barbara; Catherine D. and David D. Wilms; loving grandfather of eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; dear brother of the late Charles Wilms; he is also survived by his beloved nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kan. 66675, or any veterans' association of your choice would be appreciated.
